Quality Assurance Auditor

Peterson Manufacturing has an immediate position for a Quality Assurance Auditor. The Quality Assurance Auditor, under the administrative direction of the Quality Assurance Supervisor, performs and documents measurements, inspections and tests on products in accordance with applicable product specifications and/or special instructions. They will also prepare reports and classify all rejected materials.  The Auditor also performs other quality checks as required.

ORGANIZATIONAL SUPERVISION, REPORTING AND INTERFACE

The position reports to the Quality Assurance Supervisor.  Quality Auditor will also interface with other associates within the Maxi Seal Harness Systems Inc. organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performing dimensional inspections on components or products
• Conducting physical inspections of all incoming components and production product as well as dimensional inspections on components/product.
• Established control limits
• Revising control limits when out-of-control conditions warrant
• Investigating and reporting any non-conformance to specified test procedures
• Reading and interpreting drawings to determine applicable tolerances, visualizing implications of various views and cutaways and understanding implied requirements.
• Properly using tape measure, calipers and micrometers to check outside and inside dimensions, hole sizes, step dimensions and a variety of hold patterns.
• Analyzing production against furnished prints and taking immediate action with defective parts.
• Conducting first piece inspection of assigned parts and reporting results.
• Performing calibrations of measuring and test equipment (M&TE) when necessary
• Confirm plant audits are carried out properly

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

• Ability to analyze quality results and prepare reports that accurately summarize findings
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrated dexterity and mechanical aptitude
• Ability to work independently, evaluate alternative methodologies, prepare appropriate courses of action, and execute projects with limited supervision
• Good organizational skills and ability to get along with all associates
• Broad knowledge of assembly requirements, component functions and interrelationships between components
• Computer experience required

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• High school education, or equivalent
• Experience using typical Q.A./Q.C. measuring equipment
• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and procedures

ENVIRONMENT

• Duties are performed indoors at the corporate offices in Grandview, MO.
• Will utilize production floor tools such as carts, bins, tape measures and various hand tools.
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position and be able to move about inside the manufacturing facility.
• Operate a computer and IPad as well as other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, computer printer, and phone.
• The person in this position frequently communicates with others internally who may have various inquiries, etc.
• Must be able to exchange accurate information in all situations.
