Trade Show season is in full swing and Peterson has been on the move!

Fall is in the Air

Industry News | 09.29.23 | Carlos Romious

First on the Fall calendar was IANA Expo 2023 in Long Beach, CA. The Intermodal Association of North America is the premier organization serving the intermodal community, bringing members together to share resources and opportunities. IANA hosts many events throughout the year but the largest by far is IANA EXPO which was held again at the Long Beach Convention Center. With a vast array of quality products created to meet the needs of the intermodal equipment market, the Peterson team was anxious for an opportunity to share our latest news and products with the intermodal community. A record-breaking number of attendees (2,000+) and intermodal chassis manufacturers were introduced to the Peterson line of innovative lighting and harness products in an expanded booth that provided opportunities to work with samples and see the difference anti-theft technology can make. The new Peterson 818-10 anti-theft snap-in bracket in particular was an unprecedented hit!

With one day’s break, the PM team was then on to Cleveland for the TMC 2023 Fall Meeting & National Technician Skills Competitions, also known as SuperTech. Joined by our engineering colleagues, Peterson participated in a series of educational sessions and task force meetings created to establish guidelines for trucking technology and maintenance. Whether by leading task force sessions or participating in panel discussions, Peterson was proud to answer the call when asked to play a role in the establishment of recommended practices for the trucking industry. A significant part of this meeting is the SuperTech competition, a series of stations that test the skills of trucking technicians and allow them to compete for recognition and valuable prizes. Again this year, the Peterson engineering and sales teams worked together to host the T12 Trailer Electrical Corrosion station, a station that tested the technician’s ability to detect possible corrosion in a wire/cable and then to complete a proper repair using the tools and items provided. Michael Kerfoot, Jr. was the winner of station T12 and we congratulate him not only on winning this station but on his other victories as well. The trucking industry and those that it serves should be encouraged by the extensive amount of knowledge and experience that was displayed by the technicians during this competition. The future of the industry is very bright.

The Fall tradeshow and conference season for Peterson Manufacturing continues through October and culminates with AAPEX 2023, one of the largest events of the automotive aftermarket industry. While preparing and going to these shows involves a lot of hard work and the inevitable lack of sleep, we believe that any opportunity to connect with our customers or to influence the future of our industry is more important than anything else.
